Glen Brook Farm in Catskill, New York, holds a special place in my heart. I’ve been vacationing there since I was five years old. And I cherish all the core memories I have of this special place. Imagine my delight when the venue owners reached out to me and asked me to be the photographer for their wedding! I was beyond excited! This venue is stunning. With its rustic charm and breathtaking views, was the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love and joy.
Glen Brook Farm is the Perfect Wedding Venue
Nestled in the heart of the Catskills, Glen Brook Farm is a hidden gem for couples seeking a rustic yet elegant wedding venue. The lush greenery, rolling hills, and gorgeous mountain views make it an idyllic location. From the charming barn to the open fields, every corner of Glen Brook Farm creates the perfect setting for unforgettable moments. And when it was time for me to capture the magic of a Glen Brook Farm Wedding for the owners, it was a dream come true.
The day was filled with meaningful details and heartfelt moments, and the venue provided endless opportunities for stunning photos. It began with getting-ready moments with the bride and her guild, popping champagne and hanging out in matching plaid PJs. And then the bridesmaids sweetly looked on as the bride took a quiet moment to finish writing her vows at a wooden farm table in the getting-ready room.
The fun continued with a faux first look with a groomsman dressed up as a bride. His delicious blonde wig and tight dress over his chest hair complete with cowboy boots was only outdone by the look on the groom’s face. And it only got better from there. The real first look was priceless. The “real” bride looked stunning in her off-the-shoulder white dress and a huge bouquet of fall-inspired flowers. So, so lovely.
Outdoor Ceremony Bliss Meets Golden Hour Perfection
The couple exchanged vows under a handcrafted wooden arbor framed by the Catskill Mountains. The natural surroundings added a peaceful and romantic touch, creating a ceremony that felt intimate and timeless. The bridesmaids wore beautiful rust-colored gowns and carried bouquets of flowers that pulled from all the colors of fall. The groomsmen wore shirts, bowties, and pants held in place by suspenders. During the ceremony, the groom cried when the bride recited her carefully crafted words of love. It was absolutely touching.
Golden Hour at Glen Brook Farm is pure magic. The soft late-September light highlighted the couple as they strolled through the fields. It helped us in creating dreamy, romantic portraits that perfectly captured their love story. The ground was covered with a light dusting of fall leaves and the lake on the property was so still you could see the reflection on its surface, which made for some amazing photos.
An Evening Under the Stars
The reception took place in a giant tent set up under the stunning fall sky, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. Guests dined and danced surrounded by the beauty of the Catskills, with twinkling string lights and seasonal décor adding to the charm. As the night came to a close, the celebration ended with an epic firework show that lit up the sky, leaving everyone in awe.
